$5,000,000 Jury Verdict – Motor Vehicle Accident

Shiver Hamilton Campbell’s represented a client whose vehicle was struck by a local car dealership employee who was delivering a loaner vehicle to a customer. The collision occurred after a third vehicle had come to a controlled stopped for a deer in the roadway. The car dealership employee, who was following too closely and not paying proper attention, failed to appreciate the stopped vehicle in front of him and instead swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with our client’s vehicle.

Defendants denied any responsibility for the wreck, instead claiming it was a sudden emergency and that the wreck could not be avoided. Defendants further contended the injuries claimed by our client were unrelated to the wreck, and they even retained medical experts to attempt to support this position.

Our brave client declined attempts to settle and authorized us to take his case to trial and the jury returned a verdict of $5,000,000, which was one of the largest verdicts in Georgia for this type of case.
