Chris Garten

Attorney

Chris Garten represents individuals and families in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. Before joining Shiver Hamilton Campbell, Chris practiced at one of the nation’s premier civil defense firms, defending corporations and insurers in high-stakes litigation across the country. He knows how corporate defendants and their insurers investigate, value, and defend serious injury and death claims, and now he puts that insight to work for injured people and their families.

Chris has handled a wide range of cases, including trucking and commercial vehicle crashes, workplace injuries, product liability, premises liability, and environmental litigation, often with tens of millions of dollars at stake. He has taken depositions, argued motions, and tried cases in state and federal courts across the country. He has built and led expert teams and managed complex scientific and technical evidence.

Chris saw from the inside how defense firms prepare serious cases for trial. He joined Shiver Hamilton Campbell to use that perspective to help individuals and families and to continue sharpening his trial skills alongside seasoned plaintiff’s trial lawyers. He treats trial advocacy as a craft to be practiced and refined, and he prepares every case as if a jury will decide it.

Chris was selected to the Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Stars List in 2026, a distinction awarded to no more than 2.5% of Georgia attorneys each year.

Outside of his practice, Chris enjoys spending time with his fiancée, Carly, and their dog, Rex.
