$1,200,000 Settlement – Single Car Collision Involving Injuries to an Innocent Passenger
Shiver Hamilton Campbell represented a young girl who was a completely innocent passenger involved in a single car collision. The defendant driver initially claimed that a “John Doe” driver stuck her vehicle from behind, causing her to lose control of her vehicle. After a thorough investigation, Shiver Hamilton Campbell uncovered that the driver’s account was unsupported by the facts and that the driver, likely distracted, instead took her vehicle off of a major highway and traveled over a hundred feet into the woods before striking a tree at a high rate of speed.
The wreck caused significant injuries to our client, including a severe leg fracture and a traumatic brain injury, not to mention lacerations, scrapes, and bruises all over her body. First responders at the scene of the wreck found our client to be unconscious, trapped inside the crushed vehicle. A life flight helicopter was summoned to the scene while first responders extricated our client from the vehicle. Shiver Hamilton Campbell worked the case up for trial and battled the insurance companies over the necessity of present and future medical care. Just days before trial, Shiver Hamilton Campbell settled the case for $1.2 million, which was many multiples of our client’s medical expenses who had made a valiant recovery.
